Black Panther Party Legacy Tour of Albina

Start: Parking lot of Matt Dishman Center, 77 NE Knott Street

End: Albina Library, 205 NE Russell Street

Cost: $25 regular | $10 students & seniors. Space is limited; RSVP is strongly recommended.

*After meeting at Dishman, we will walk to nearby sites; at 12 p.m., we will gather at Albina Library for a Q&A with Mr. Ford.  We will provide a map for a self-guided tour of additional sites.

Discover how the Portland Panthers turned community power into daily acts of collective care, organizing vital community initiatives like free breakfast programs and the People’s Free Health Clinic. 

This tour takes place during Black August, an annual commemoration of the sacrifices of Black political prisoners and revolutionaries in the struggle for Black liberation. Join Vanport Mosaic on August 30 to hear Mr. Ford’s personal memories of revolutionary activism and community service, and be inspired to join today’s fight for justice.
